Ofsted
"Pupils and staff are proud of their school. Leaders and staff know families well. This means they can help pupils to get the best out of their time at the school. Leaders put pupils at the heart of their decisions."

Following our latest Ofsted inspection in January 2026, we are pleased to share that inspectors recognised many significant strengths across Oasis Academy Long Cross. Their findings reflect the dedication of our staff, the positive attitudes of our pupils, and the continued commitment of our whole community.
When Ofsted visited the Academy, they found:
- Pupils feel safe, welcomed and well cared for. Inspectors noted that staff greet pupils warmly each morning and create an environment where pupils are confident that adults will support them when needed.
- Pupils behave well and show kindness and respect. Disruption to learning is rare, and pupils cooperate positively with one another. Character values are embedded throughout the school, helping pupils understand why behaviour expectations matter.
- Safeguarding is effective. Leaders have established a strong safeguarding culture in which concerns are identified early and acted upon swiftly, ensuring pupils are kept safe.
- Inclusion is a strength of the school. Staff understand pupils' needs well and give them the support required to succeed. Pupils with SEND are fully included in school life and benefit from tailored support that enables them to thrive socially and academically.
- Provision in our Specialist Resource Base is particularly strong. Inspectors highlighted that pupils with complex SEND are exceptionally well understood and supported, enabling them to learn well and make meaningful progress. They confirmed that leaders’ judgements about this provision were accurate and well founded.
- Leaders know the school well and act in pupils’ best interests. They seek the views of staff, parents and pupils, prioritise improvements carefully, and provide staff with high‑quality training that develops their knowledge and expertise.
- Pupils benefit from a rich programme of personal development. From Nursery to Year 6, the curriculum helps pupils learn how to stay safe, understand values, explore interests and develop talents through clubs, events and memorable experiences.
We are proud that inspectors recognised the many areas in which our academy excels, especially the high‑quality provision for pupils with SEND and the positive, nurturing culture that defines daily life here. Their validation of leaders’ judgements is a testament to the commitment and expertise of our whole team.
While the report also identifies areas for continued improvement—which we fully embrace—we remain steadfast in our ambition. We will continue to work closely with our community to strengthen outcomes and move our academy confidently along its journey of improvement.
